Upgrading Your Betamax?

Being technophobic isn’t easygoing; what on earth is a televisio? I’m joking of course, I know what a TV is. It’s a box in which little people called Peggy Mitchell and Chris Akabusi live, well they used to. All jokes aside, I’m clueless when it comes to computers. Technophobes are people who hate technology, I don’t hate it, I’m just baffled. I couldn’t tell you the difference between a hard drive and a soft drive. Why are all computer bits associated with animals: mouse, monitor (the lizard) and web! 2011 will be the year I become tech-savvy. Maybe I might buy that digital watch I’ve had my eye on.

Last year I upgraded my Betamax to a high quality VHS, apparently this was a bit of a blunder. The new in thing are called Blu-ray DVD players which play discs. Apparently there’s been a whole host of other coloured-ray DVDs. I’m considering purchasing a DVD player. From online reviews, I think I’m gaining a basic grasp of what benefits a Blu-ray DVD player can offer. Blu-ray delivers outstanding picture quality, with movies encoded in 1080p resolution which makes the picture quality crisp and definitive. The Samsung BD-C6900 has excellent Blu-ray performance and is loaded with features including Netflix, Vudu, YouTube and Pandora media streaming capabilities, plus the expandable Samsung Apps platform. Now if someone could let me know what this means then that would be great.

Compared to my ancient entertainment system, which a may as well be charcoal and the side of a cave, it is definitely a step in the right direction to completing my new entertainment system. However, hooking up a blu-ray with an analogue is pointless, so I’ll have to look for a new TV too, I’ve heard a Samsung TV would suffice. What the heck, maybe I’ll go all the way and browse the Toshiba Laptops
